I would call this a lipstick, although it is not very heavy and is not at all matte.
The product is supposedly a combo of lipstick and balm type thing. Bronze Goddess is as you might imagine, a warm brownish orange with a pretty bronze sparkle throughout.
When it's on it brings out blue eyes really nicely and is perfect for when you don't want to look 'too made up' with lipstick. It feels soft and smooth going on and lasts a fairly reasonable amount of time once applied
Pros:smooth, silky texture, very pretty colour, cheap Cons:might be too 'thin' in terms of coverage for some, not as obvious as a lipstick
A really pretty coral pink color. Applied sheerly, this enhances your natural lip color but still looks natural. When I apply a lot, I find that it is a little too bright for my taste, but it looks much better after I blot it. The lipstick isn't drying and the lasting power is okay.
This lipstick is a great copy of MAC's Comso. It's a tiny bit more rosy than my natural lipcolor and looks like a tiny tiny bit pinker version of Cosmo.
This color is a soft pink and it gives you a natural, shiny look and it doesn't look heavy. I've tried many "gloss" and "shine" lipsticks that claim to give shine and I was pleasantly surprised that this one really delivers on that promise.
Pros:Inexpensive, Has great shine, Comes in lots of flattering shades Cons:None
I have this in Soft Blush Satin and love it. I very much reccomend it to anyone who loves light pink lipsticks. At first it seemed a little drying and tightening but once I applied the gloss/moisturizer everything went amazing. I also had gotten this on sale for $2 so that also helped. I will be buying more, even if not on sale. This lasts a very long time too! Plus, staying power quality is up there with a few high end brands.
Pros:Color,Longlasting,Price,Moisturizing Cons:Tightening at first
While I do like the CG lipsticks, I have never felt that Outlast lis isnt not a good description of it and it's not all that good...I need to buy another one. I love CG, but would not buy this again; also very drying, may have sat on the shelf too long
I like this lipsticks. They are a good middle ground between smoothers and outlast lipsticks. They are in between the two on both moisturizing lips and lasting power. A good compromise :)
I have two smoothwear shades, rose satin and soft blush satin. This lipstick, like the regular outlast, does indeed last a very long time. However, I think it may not last QUITE as long as the original outlast. There is also a somewhat odd smell/taste to it, whereas I never noticed any with the regular outlast. Some others have described it as "fishy", but I don't think it is fishy at all. Regardless, it goes away after a while. It also isn't as drying as the original. The shades don't really appear as they are marked on the box, so I'm not too thrilled with the shades I got, but these are still worth a try.
Pros:last a very long time Cons:wide selection of colors but colors dont show up as they appear
I actually like outlast. I have noticed my lips become very slightly dry a few times when using this, but I do not use it everyday. It does what it says--it lasts a very long time. This is fairly cheap for a drugstore long-lasting lipstick and comes in a wide variety of colors. A few times when I've used this I have noticed some minimal flaking and peeling, but this could also be due to my habit of biting my lips. I haven't noticed any strange smell or taste with the regular outlast, but I think the newest one, smoothwear, does taste and smell a tad odd. I don't know if I would call it fishy, though. Overall, I say give it a shot.
Pros:cheap, long-lasting, lots of colors Cons:may flake off a bit and dry lips out slightly
reviewers on another site mentioned that this has an off fishy smell to it. i didnt notice any fishy smell. mine didnt have much of a smell at all, and thats about the best thing i have to say. well, the clear gloss is nice, but i wouldnt buy it seperately.
where to begin? the packaging is hideous, but thats no big deal, of course. i attempted to apply two thin coats. not only does the l/s take forever to dry, but it becomes outrageously tacky. you have to force your lips to peeeel apart. its almost impossible to apply evenly, even with thin coats. i had to use my finger to smooth it, and it took forever. after it dries, its like midevil torture because its *so* dry. its actually beyond uncomfortable, verging on painful. it honestly has the texture of a very tight, dry clay mask on your lips.
the only salvation is the gloss. once you put any gloss over it, your lips feel semi normal. has the gloss worn off almost instantly? good. now its time for the rolling and flaking to begin. a touch up is in order. remember that problem with applying it evenly? its even worse this time around. time to take it off? i hope you like the taste of soap, or make up remover.
if i wanted to touch up the color, or even the gloss constanly, id go with a regular lipstick. in summation, this product is torturous crap that has put me in a foul mood.
Horrible wretched product. I had purchased this in Papaya, a pretty coral shade that would've been great in any other shade of lipstick. However the Outlast formula is horrible. It dried out my lips..flaked...required constant application of the balm which only made it flake more and was overall just too much high maintance. It was also a bitch to remove from my lips. I do like the balm that included with it tho. The balm is nice. I think they sell it seperatly but I can't fathom paying the 6 dollar asking price for a clear balm. Beh.
